connecting to 1/2" pipe

I am about to do some jobs in my Mothers house which is plumbed in 1/2" copper. Are 1/2" to 15mm adaptors still available? A blow lamp could be difficult in some places so compression would be favourite.

Yes. Half inch stuff is still available at all good plumber's merchants.

If you can salvage a half inch compression fitting, as they are slightly larger than 15mm, you can use the same fitting with with a 15mm olive.

Thanks Plubbob. My local merchant (not to be named) said "I've been in this business 20 years and they don't exist"! I shall go elsewhere. The 15mm olive on a 1/2" fitting is a gem of a tip.

Thanks again.

The opposite applys for 3/4" as well by using a 22mm compression, with a 3/4" olive.

I know they are available as I stocked up on 1/2" and 3/4" solder couplings and 3/4" olives only a few weeks ago. I wondered if they could still be got as I haven't used any for a couple of years. Then came across two jobs in as many weeks.

I prefer to use long established independent merchants as I believe they are more likely to stock obscure parts than the national chains.
