can anyone help with info on our Parkray fireplace!!?? Help and information on all topics relating to your central heating, air conditioning and ventilation issues.

We bought a house 2 years ago and in the lounge we have a fairly old Parkray fireplace. We didn't get any information on it except that the estate agent thought it might heat the water.
It doesn't and never has, we are currently looking to replace our electric storage heaters and i was wondering if anyone knew;
- firstly do all Parkray fires heat water,
- and secondly can they be reinstated to run radiators if they don't at the moment..

any thoughts greatly received

The current range of parkray inset enclosed fires do have boilers in them. Yours may not. You would need to get someone in who knows what they are looking for to determine whether your fire has a back-boiler. If it does there is no guarantee that the boiler is sound so that would need to be checked out. If it does not, a back boiler can be retro-fitted to most enclosed fires - you would need to contact a local stove specialist to establish feasability, but the output from a retrofit boiler is unlikely to give enough output for more the 3 radiators.

Hi Helen.

I know this is a bit late (1 yr) but did you get this parkray sorted, i have an old Parkray and have contacted loads of parkray specialists with problems that i have.
i still have problems but to do with getting heat to rads, would be interested in your solution if any..
