Shower Light/Vent Unit

by Paddyash » Sun Dec 14, 2008 10:27 am

Help Please
:?:
We had a Shower light / vent installed over our shower. However the room is very cold because the vent is open 24/7. Has the builder left out a bit in the pipe to close the vent when not in use????.

Many Thanks

Joe

Paddyash,
Yes your installer has not fitted a backdraught flap or he has fitted it wrongly.

Normally louvres or flaps on outside bit but they are not electrical operated and natural draft will open them. More expensive extractor fans may have solenoid operated or full heat exchanger but we are looking at £400 plus for heat exchangers.
