Towel radiator (electric)

by romet » Wed Dec 17, 2008 3:59 pm

Hi ,

I`ve just purchase a towel radiator from b&q but I want to install this as electric so it can be used individually when the central heating is off.
On the box it says that the radiator can be used either part of central heating system (water), or electric. To be used as electric they sold me the wire and heating part.
Finally, my question is, should I connect the radiator as was the previous one as part of the central system? or just fill it with water individually and seal it?
Thanks a lot!!

Well, not sure if I understand the question, but the rad is designed to be connected to both the electric and central heating. It doesn't have to be you could just use it as a normal hot water radiator or just heated electrically.

A point worth mentioning here though, regulations say the electric element must be wired up by a qualified electrician. It is NOT permitted as a DIY job.
