ceiling pull cord switch, can you help?

by glasmale26 » Fri Jan 02, 2009 7:24 pm

Hi,
I have just replaced a ceiling pull cord swith with a new one and replaced the three bulbs in the fitting but for some reason the light still does not work? The pull cord swith has two terminals, one says 'COM' and one says 'L1' which I presume to be live,

The cable has a red wire, a black one and a earth which is connected.

I tried both combinations, ie the red one into L1 and COM and then swopped them round,

Is there anything else I am missing??

I cant have been sold 3 dodgy bulbs could I???

Have you replaced the light fitting as well as the switch?

I can't see a fault.
Although Supply Line to Com and Switch Line to L1 is normal it does not normally matter if swapped.
Are you sure not part of two way switching
why can't you test bulbs in something else?
