I hope you don't mind me posting, but I am experiencing some issues with damp in my room.
Let me give you a little information first. I am a MSc student and am co-renting with 3 mates. I have a downstairs room with a small 'walk in' cupboard. The problem is that my room suffers from damp to the extent that my clothes became so damp they started to have mold on the surface (took a week to wash!)
Since then my landlord has given me a dehumidifier and this was stripping 5 litres every two days. This wasn't acceptable so he has installed two holes from the cupboard to outside the house. This has definitely helped as it takes the dehumidifier approximately 5-7 days to extract the water.
My problem now is that the room is ridiculously cold (sometimes reaching as low as 0). My clothes are sometimes still slightly damp, but only just. The biggest problem is that without the dehumidifier the damp is not gone.
Since then I have had an issue with my landlord and have asked to move out as the damp was making me very sick. My question is, are there a way I can buy a kit to prove the building still has damp issues and that the cold is at an unacceptable level?
I really would appreciate any help anyone could give!
