Shower Problem

by scoobie » Tue Jan 06, 2009 6:55 pm

Hi,

It's recently started to play-up. Sometimes when it's turned on the flow seems to be greater and there is no-hot water. Or, someone can shower, and the next person to use it just after will just get cold water. It's combi boiler fed, and a manual control temp.

The taps in the same bathroom are recieving hot water.

I was just going to fit a new shower unit/mixer tap to include a thermostatic valve (upgrade it), but somehow I don't think it will solve the problem.

The property is a barn conversion, converted 2000, split level - about 3 steps - so the boiler has to pump about 30' and up 4'.

Thanks in advance.

scoobie,
Do what you planned and see if a new valve will sort the problem.
