Installing an elecric oven

by skyrakes » Sat Oct 27, 2007 8:20 pm

The insructions state fit a heat deflector prior to installing the oven in the cabinet. I have spoken to many fiends who have had new kitchend but no one fitted heat deflectors.
My question is do i need one and if so where do i get one from.

I remember fitting an oven once that was supplied with a heat deflector. We couldn't work out where it went. We finally decided it fitted above the grill, outside the oven and was designed when using the grill to stop hot air from leaving the oven and making the controls on the oven from becoming hot.

Of all the ovens I have fitted, only ever seen this once!

I believe it was to protect the operator from burns.
