Engagement of joist Information, help and advice on many architecture, self build and design problems and issues

I want to trim the ends off two bedroom floor joists , which carry modern bedrooms (stud walls, within block outside walls) ontop of old, much thicker stone walled ground floor.

What is the minimum engagement into the stone wall that needs to remain?
