Cavity closer + vertical DPC? All manner of questions and solutions to problems and issues surrounding the subject of brickwork, blockwork and stonework

If I use a pre-made cavity closer up the side of my doorframe, do I still need to fold some vertical DPC round into the cavity? I have been told I should put a strip 25mm round into the the cavity but that was when I was intending to close the cavity with with bits of block.
