hi can anyone help we are desperate, we have recently fitted a limestone fireplace, but we are having problems getting the residue cement off the brickwork, we have tried a scrubbing brush with soapy water a toothbrush with turps on and generally scrubbing but it wont budge, any ideas :(
Brick cleaning acid is an expensive form of Hydrocloric acid, but be careful with it, have plenty of water standing by to neutralise if it is going too far, and do it slowly. Paint brush rather than tooth brush, and wear protective clothing and goggles.
