Cant remove old Bath Taps due to ancient original sealant Fillers, sealants and adhesives for all types of DIY work. Help, advice and information on all aspects of this subject

HELP!
totally new bathroom but I kept lovely old enamel bath. HOWEVER cant after many attempts get old taps off cos they are practically welded to the bath with ancient sealant/glue which even has horsehair in.
Dont want to use corrosive chemical and lift enamel and cant finish tiling cos of taps.
Any hints / tips / products I could use?

Use a hot air gun to heat the taps, this should soften the putty used around the taps.
