Hi there are loads of problems with having a boiler fitted in a roofspace as Steve says with also the addition as well of a gas isolation valve is to be fitted bellow the ceiling so the boiler can be isolated in case of a leak ,
as far as the studding for the support is concerned it will have to be non combustable surface i suppose you could cover the surface with alluminium closure plates,
And its also possible that an additional frost stat may have to be fitted to the return pipework to protect the pipes from freezing,, some boilers have an internal one fitted, but that only protects the boiler internals
Another problem is if you need to adjust the temp of the heating and water, plus you will need an external clock system fitted ,
I have allways talked people out of it to be honest,
i now only do servicing and breakdowns and i always ask where the boiler is located if its in the roof i will not attend to it as its a pain testing things and keep going up and down the ladder carrying kit up and down
hope this helps Mick
