Problem small cupboard door

by julies6586 » Wed Oct 22, 2008 6:24 pm

Have a small hall cupboard with fuse box and house alarm box which also serves as hanging space for jackets, problem is the door is a non-standard size and currently renewing all other hall doors. Any suggestions? Have a different door from all others? Would moving the fuse box and alarm be a huge job to get rid of cupboard?

can i suggest , depending on door style, getting a quote from a joiner to manufacture you a replacement. If you wanted to remove cupboard, relocation of alarm panel upwards is normally ok as most if not all cable come from above although this is usually if panel is on the ground floor. moving consumer unit is a lot more involved and costly. both jobs need someone qualified. the new door option is def the more cost effective solution. another idea would be to minimise cupboard size to house panel and con unit and just fit access panel over it which would not have to match existing doors
