We have a brick built (breezeblock) construction in our back garden, which is not attached to our house. Previous owner used it as a workshop, as he was a dab hand with wood.
Me & hubby? Not a fan of making things out of wood. So we'd like to turn it into a studio & space for our business. At the moment we're using it as a dumping ground/shed - not so useful.
It's 20'x10' and has a dpm under the floor and has been screeded. The doors are big wooden 'garage-esque' doors, which aren't very good at keeping the warm in & let a lot of spiders in too! We plan to brick this up and put in a uPVC door in. It has 4 windows, which seem fine.
We planned to install a vent to get the air circulating, then have the room plastered - just a timber frame, then plasterboard with insulation on the back. Then skim.
Does that sound do-able for an acceptable conversion? Or are we missing something out?
The building already has it's own electrics with seperate breaker box etc.
