Mould spots on bathroom sealant?

by ruud1boy » Sat Jan 24, 2009 5:23 am

We had a new bathroom fitted recently (Spring '08) and we're starting to see evidence of mould on the bath sealant already.
They're only small spots at present, but it's bally annoying!
We're fairly good at wiping down after using the bath/shower, but obviously it's not possible to avoid the sealant getting wet. I've tried cleaning it with a mould remover, but it appears to be immune to that.

Can anyone offer any tips on how to remove the mould & keep the sealant clean?

You will need to cut off sealant and reseal using an anti fungicidal sealant. It is quite a common problem, try to regularly dry off sealant to avoid te start of the mould and wipe with bleach
