Oven trips While in use ???

by Monty61 » Mon Feb 02, 2009 2:57 pm

 , Hi all, new to diydoctor so here goes !. I have an electric fan oven, it works fine up to 180 degrees C, as soon as I turn it up, the rccb trips in the consumer unit, it resets fine for about an hour then it trips again. All that is on in the meantime is the tv and computer in the other room !, can anyone shed any light on this matter please ????. Thanks.

Hi Monty61,
I guess this only happens when TV and computer are on?
The oven should really be on a circuit of it's own, two possibles here the circuit is overloading when other equipement is on or earth leakage is forcing the RCCB to trip.
If you can give me power of oven and breaker that is protecting it, might be able to make sense of this.
