Earthing an metal light fitting

by light » Sat May 26, 2007 5:42 pm

I need to earth a metal light fitting according to the instructions.
I have four earth wires coming from the ceiling. Can I just put them all in one terminal block and leave or have all four wires got to be linked to the earth of the new fitting?

As I am understanding this you have 4 earth wires comming from your ceiling all these earth wires will need to be connected to your new light fitting because it is imporant that you keep the continuity of the earth just incase of a fault, so link all 4 earth wires with the new light.

Hi, put into one block and just have one flexible earth wire to light,
reason best way is all circuit earths solid connected together, so when you screw fitting up less likely to disturb connections
