New room thermostat

by praxyman » Tue Feb 10, 2009 9:19 am

Hello all,

Would someone be able to recommend a good replacement for a Proscon Type PBC10 room thermostat ?

We are just after a basic one with only a dial like the current one.

Have taken the cover off and there are 5 terminals to which wires can go (but only 4 are used) and the ones that are connected are as follows;

Far left = earth yellow\green wire
Then the next terminal has no wires (terminal marked as Cooling)
The next is the Red wire (terminal marked as Heating)
Then the Blue wire (terminal marked as Neutral)
Then the Yellow wire (terminal marked as Line)

I would ideally like to go for one to which the same number of wires above can be connected so that its an easy swap. Are the wire colours standard ? I did see a Drayton RTS1 but that doesn't seem to use the earth wire.

Thankyou

I am not familiar with the Proscon Type PBC10 as there are so many different makes on the market is impossible to remember them all.

Fine, go for the Drayton. I can't think of any now that use the earth as they are all plastic so don't need it. There will be an earthing point on every stat.

The only limitation for choice is if you choose a digital type. It must be battery operated as you do not have a permanent live connection.
