PEELING paint!!

by ooops » Mon May 28, 2007 10:01 am

I am pulling my hair out! and would appreciate any help......No suggestions of a wig please

I have patch plastered an area of a wall where a cable has been chased in, once plaster was fully dried out I used new plaster paint and then undercated with thinned emulsion.

finally I applied a top coat of emulsion............the paint has bubbled (About a 1" bubble) Sanded off applied pva and tried again.....same result! I am thinking it may be dodgy plaster?

Thanks in anticipation of a huge response!

Blistering is always a sign of poor adhesion and vbery often because the paint has been applied over a damp surface. Strip off and allow the plaster a few days to dry out properly as you seem to have doner everything else correctly. If the plaster is very old or a bad batch, it will be evident if you leave to dry for a few days and the same thing happens again
