My house is 9 years old, and has oil-fired central heating. When the heating comes on, the pipes click and bang! Is this something I should be concerned about? I've had a new pump fitted, had the system drained and refilled with Entonox (is that right?), and checked that the radiators don't need bleeding.

Hi Twiggy,

Entonox is gas and air used for pain relief, eg pregnant ladies.
Fernox is the badger, lol.
If its a small ticking noise then its just the pipes expanding/ contracting.
If its disturbingly loud get a tame plumber in.

lol Entonox is laughing gas!... I suppose they may have put some in :)

Id imagine the noises may just be some residual air trapped rom the draing/filling process.... see if it works its way out.

Well, I was close! I thought the pipes might be in pain, so Entonox might help (LOL). Seriously, thanks for your reply.
