Loft Conversion

by jontee » Sun Mar 01, 2009 7:26 pm

My house has a room in its loft. Its been there for at least 25 years, but definately not part of the original build. When I come to sell the house, am I likely to fall foul of surverys, building reg issues etc? it seems to have been done well and has all the usual things you'd expect from a proper conversion.

TIA

jontee,
It is unlikely that you will have any problems with official permissions due to the age of the conversion. This does not guarantee that a surveyor will give the conversion (or the rest of the house) a clean bill of health - even houses built a year ago are unlikely to meet all current regulations.

Thanks stoneyboy. I guess its all down to what the situation is when/if the time comes to sell.
