Consumer Unit Project

by BAUERJAN » Mon May 28, 2007 11:01 pm

I have read the Consumer Unit project and a thought occurs to me.

In the old type fuse box the live output of the mains on/off switch is fed to a bus bar within the fuse box which feeds each fuse.

In the consumer unit, there appears no busbar for the live feeds to the MCB's.

How is the live distributed?

Is there a special busbar for the live feeds to the MCB's

Many thanks for any info.

Hi, they all have busbars, some have clip on cover, some older Crabtree & Square 'D' types have a plug on arrangement where the MCB's have no screw connections only a 'finger' on the back which goes thro. a slot in plastic, have a cerfull closer look,
