Hello,

my mixer tap in my kitchen doesn't run hot water. I have it turned to the hot water side but only cold water runs out. However my boiler is heating up water fine as the taps in my bathroom run hot water.

Any ideas? I think I have a combi boiler.

What happens when you turn it to the cold water side?

Is it a new tap?

problem with the tap, just change the tap. get them cheap enough now

Cold water side is just cold water. It works exactly as before just the water coming out the hot water side is always cold.

Not a new tap, not an hold tap either. Nothing done recently central heating or hot water wise.

Just a mystery!

Is it a monobloc with a thermostatic cartridge?

Sounds like the cartridge may have failed and its not letting any hot through - blocked filter?

That sounds a bit fancy. It really is just a simple mixer tap.

Is there any way I can unblock the filter rather than getting someone out to replace the tap?

Then I'm stumped at this distance frankly. If its a simple mixer tap then when you open the hot side you should get hot water not cold. There probably wont be any filters on a simple mixer.

It would probably be as clear as daylight if I could see it. LoL.

Suggest you get yourself a plumber.
