I have recently moved into an end of terrac cottage built in 1880. The existing lounge is a typical floor construction of dwaf wall, timber joist and floorbards.
The kitchen is a different story, it is constructed of brick laid directly onto soil with a sand screed on top of the bricks of which is causeing a lot of damp issues (is that typical).
I have dug down and and not found any signs that a dwaf wall existed.
what is the best idea and is it possible to build a new dwaf wall.
concrete floor batterned out or dwaf wall.
Thanks for any help/advice you can give me
