Concrete Hot tub base

by saintsfan » Mon Mar 23, 2009 10:45 am

I am building a concrete base for a new hot tub. It's a pretty big one and will hold about 1800 litres when full, + 9 people. What's the best concrete mix to hold this sort of load? Should I use the steel fibre reinforced stuff, or would a strong mix of ordinary concrete do the trick? Thanks in advance!!

saintsfan,
Use a mix of between 4 and 5 of ballast to 1 of OPC and include a sheet of weldmesh in it.
end
