Wallpapering a staircase with a specific panelled pattern

by TheW1llow » Sat Mar 14, 2009 4:09 pm

Hello,

I intend to wallpaper the hall, stairs and landing. The wallpaper has a panelled pattern and I do not know how to keep the pattern going up the staircase. I would greatly appreciate any advice.

I hang my first length of paper on the stringing wall where the bulkhead meets the wall, the longest length first. Strike a line vertically true out from the corner along the stringing wall, the width of the roll. When the paper expands and it is hung it will come around the bulkhead wall. Paste the paper well and fold into a concertina allowing 50mm at the top and bottom for trimming, and allowing to soak for manufacturers recommendations, start from the top and work your way down the wall Brushing from the centre out towards the edges. I personally finish the entire stringing wall first.
