Transporting a fridge, can i lie it down?

by AdZc1987 » Sun Mar 29, 2009 5:47 pm

Hi im going to get a new fridge freezer, i have access to a small van which will fit the fridge freezer, but only if it sits on its side.

Will this cause any issues? I was told they MUST be kept upright but i dont see the problem.

I realise u need to leave the Fridge/Freezer to stand for a good 4 hrs, then leave turned on for 24hrs before use.

Can any one shed some light on this? Thanks.

It is true that many freezers cannot be turned on the side without following procedures.

Each model can be different as some can be transported on their side.

Check the instructions which should state how the product can be handled. It usually states on the outside of the packaging.

I think you'd be much safer paying for the shop to deliver it.

Cheers
