tap becomign stiff when moving between 2 sinks

by martinj » Mon Apr 06, 2009 9:52 am

Hi All,

First time so forgive me if I am answering a stupid question.

6 months ago, fitted a new mixer tap to my sink "Moretti Flare Mono Sink Mixer" from screwfix. All went well, but now the tape is becoming extremely stiff when moving the spout between the 2 sinks.
The actual tap handle moves left and right fine to control temperature and up and down for flow. I wondered if there was any way to loosen or adjust the spout to make it move freely. When I purchased the tap, I noticed that it was supplied with an allen key and a small allen bolt at the base of the tap, but no instructions on what it was for. If this to adjust the taps spout from travelling from left to right?

It sounds as though you have got some debris of some description in the tap - take it apart and clean it out.

The allen key is to undo the screw which when undone will release the spout so it can be taken out.

Cheers
