Problem of hunting solved by closing the gate valve by two turns. I can understand your frustration at me but I bought this pump off of e-bay and there were no instructions I don't even know who the manufacturer is although I have the rating plate the makers name is missing. I thought that it was a Stuart Turner but after speaking to them it appears not. I wanted to post a drawing on this site showing how I have plumbed it in but I don't know if that can be done. Anyhow thanks for your support anf guidance you and Plumbob both.
