We are building a garage/workshop at the back of our house and would like to install a toilet and wash basin. The sewage and main drain is at the top of a slope so we think we will need a pump of some sort I have looked at some pumps which are buried and we are not sure whether the pumps are also mascerators or if that has to be added sepaerately. We will at some stage also want to put the washing machine in there. Can any one help. The sewage pipe is victorianand the fall from the top of the slope isn't brilliant. The sewage drain is aproximately 20ft from the front of the workshop. HELP please would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you in anticipation.

Anyway,

You can't use an ordinary pump for anything other than ordinary water and even then they may struggle with "dirty" water.

If you intend to install a washing machine you could use one of these.

Toilets need a mascerator (which chops stuff up) such as

Only use a pump if the fall or distance make it impossible to connect by conventional means.
