how to cut scaffolding

by meggan » Thu Apr 09, 2009 3:35 pm

I have two scaffold post as line poles for the washing, they are cemented deep in the ground and now I would like to take them down and the only way to do this is to cut them down.
Can anyone tell me how to do this and with what tools . Meggan

You could also use a hacksaw, but you will need a lot of elbow grease.

Also if you are going for the above option shop around as for just this application the above mentioned tool would be very expensive ( however it is a top quality item)

this is from same supplier but much cheaper!

Surely a spade is the answer, why do u want to cut them down. Doubt the concreted in that deep. Bet its no more than 9-12 inches - dig around it and drag it out - probably less work than a hack saw and using a cutter sounds like over kill to me. I suppose if the set into a concrete path thats different - id hire an angle grinder - easier to get them flush to the path than a hack saw.
