ive got old paint on my stairs. took the easy way by just painting over the problem. trouble is the new paint is peeling of.i tried to take the old paint of with paint remover but it will not get into the tiny bits now it just looks horrible.it's the first thing you see when you walk into my home. any suggestion would be gratefully received. thanks

It sounds as though you just painted over the top without sugar soaping and keying the original surface.

Time for the hot air gun and start all over from bare wood methinks.
