Warm water only from bathtub

by catmanos » Thu May 07, 2009 5:17 pm

Every tap in my house has very hot water - except for 1 bathtub. It only comes out a little warm.
I just had the water heater replaced and the company insists it's got nothing to do with that.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?

How far is the hot water tank from the bath? It sounds like there could be cold water mixing in the pipe somewhere, empty the tank, refill and see if that works.

Hi catmanos,
Do you have a mixer tap on the bathtub? If so has it got separate hot and cold taps or is it a lever type that selects the temperature depending on how you set it. If it's the combined type there could be something wrong with the tap, allowing cold water to mix with the hot even if it's set right over to the hot side. I don't know much about how these work but from things that I've read on here you may need to replace the tap if that's the case.

Water heater or boiler ? - gas or electric ?

Does this one heater feed all taps in the house ?
