Replacing Chipboard Floor - is OSD better option

by saki » Mon May 11, 2009 11:49 am

Hi,

I am replacing part of a T&G 18mm floor in kitchen previously damaged by water from leaking pipes.

Just at the stage of laying new boards and intended to go for 18mm chipboard. Would 18mm external OSD be a better choice ie more water resistant? If so, would I need to treat it before laying?

I plan to cover floor with hardboard and lay lino tiles on top.

TIA

OSD a better option in potentially wet areas, no further treatment required.

OSD by far better option that chipboard as bd says but 18mm WPB ply would be even better.

Cheers
