Is there anything available to make a neat join between pedestal and toilet so you dont have to lift them first

Presumably you mean making a neat joint between the laminate floor and the basin pedestal and the laminate floor and the toilet Chris. The answer is practice !!

You can cut a template out of heavy cardboard and keep trimming it toi get an exact fit, then you simply transfer that cut onto laminate. The expansion gap you have left (and you must have at least 10mm) you fill with a coloured sealant.
