2 way light fitting - 2 switches

by andrewa1966 » Sun May 17, 2009 10:50 pm

1 have 2 light fittings - one in the hall, one on the landing. Both can be turned on and off, by switches at the top and bottom of the stairs, ie both on or both off

I have changed the fitting downstairs
The downstairs light works fine, but the upstairs just glows dimly

Please help, what have i done wrong

Need to know core colours of cables in switches sounds like you have got the conection mixed up, which is causing dim lighting.

You say you have replaced the fiting downstairs. Have you replaced any switches?
If not, the fault has to be at the fitting which you have replaced, but as KB says, would need to know cable no's and colours before offering advice.
