engineered oak floor in kitchen

by selma » Thu May 21, 2009 8:25 pm

I am about to put a new floor in our kitchen/dining room which leads out to the garden and have 2 boys who play football all the time. I am putting in underfloor heating (wet), so plan to use engineered oak boards. I am not sure whether to use a lacquer finish (harder wearing but not as attractive and scratches look worse), or brushed and oiled (looks good but lots of maintenance). Any advice? thanks

Finish Choice

Selma,

You will apply the coating yourself, or get prefinished parquet from the seller? You can choose Bona Naturale, It looks like unfinished, feels like oiled, but it is lacquerd. This type finish should be suitable for your kitchen.
