Tiles on top of tiles

by redevil825 » Tue Jun 02, 2009 6:51 pm

Having decided to renew the bathroom I have secured the services of a good bathroom fitter and a tiler. I decided that I would rather remove the current tiles instead of tiling over (for what reason I don't know) but have discovered that there are at least two more layers of tiles below those I have removed. My questions is this. What do i need to do to prepare for the tiler. There seems to be a lot of hardended adhesive left and I need to know how to remove this if indeed i need to remove.

The words " can of worms" spring to mind.
Your bathroom must be getting smaller and smaller.
If you do not wish to remove the other 2 layers of tiles, you must at least remove the tile cement.
It is probably not waterproof, so you could try soaking it.
Otherwise put a thin wide blade at the edge of it and hit it sol that it falls off.
