Roof truss bracing/strapping

by col111 » Thu Jun 11, 2009 2:22 pm

A surveyor has advised that additional bracing/strapping to roof trusses should be provided to a 1970's flat I am buying, to comply with current building practice. I have seen different types of roofs & trusses, where can I get details of current building practice to be able to do it myself? Is it an expensive job if I get a roofer to do it? What is strapping?

col111,
You must get a drawing from your surveyor installation should be straighforward once you see what is needed.

Thanks stoneyboy, I will try to contact the surveyor (it was the mortgage lenders surveyor who did the survey, I have not had direct contact with him as yet).
