bathroom ceiling light

hi.just bought a new build from barratt.i've tried to change the bathroom ceiling light but discovered that the original was only a 2 wire connection(live and neutral).the original light fitting was plastic but the new light is metal.do i need an earth connection for the new light or will the 2 wire connection suffice?

I.E.E Regulation pertaining installation of any bathroom switches either metalic or plastic states that an earth provision must be provided,the bathroom switches are liable to contact all the time with dampness. for safety against risk of fatal electrocution earthing must be sufficiently be provided.
