Hi, we have recently renovated a house and took the opportunity to get solar panels installed along with a new boiler system and underfloor heating on the ground floor. Whilst the heating system seems to work OK (seems very expensive to run but beside the point), we do not fully understand the set up of the panels, boiler etc. To cut a long story short, there is water constantly dripping out of a pipe from either the boiler or the panels. The builder says this is perfectly normal, but it just doesn't seem right. There is an expansion vessel connected to the system that is completely empty - should this not fill up before the water drips out?
The boiler is from Keston and the panels and pump for the solar are from Worcester Bosch so at the moment we can only trust that what the builder and plumber are saying is true. There is also a Manco unvented cylinder connected to everything.
The solar system has been losing pressure. They say they have fixed it and all is now OK but it is currently at 0.5 bar and the manual says it should be between 1.5 and 2.2 but we are not experts so are loath to say they are both wrong and we are right. Can somebody help? Should we get someone else in to check it all out? Many thanks!
