Crack in concrete shower tray

by dancuthbertson » Thu May 21, 2009 1:17 pm

Hello,

I have a crack in my cast cnocrete shower tray and whilst it's only dripping periodically, I want to repair it before it gets any worse.

I think that I need to drill a hole and the end of the crack to prevent further cracking but what should I use to fill the crack & hole? Is this right? If not, could someone advise me?

Thanks ever so much.

You are never going to make it watertight again. Replace it.

Fibreglass it

I repaired mine with a car body repair kit 2 years ago and it is still OK. I ground the crack out with a angle grinder and filled it with the smooth fibregall filler, sanded it and it was white when it dried. I then stuck plastic bath grip strips over the base in a pattern which covered the crack and it looks great!
