Hi, I'm laying a patio with a supporting wall, how deep do i need to make the concrete foundation? To make the patio level (the garden slopes) the wall will be (from ground level) between 1 brick and 4 bricks high, double wall wwith planting space in middle of it, I thought 3" concrete base? The patio will be 3.5 x3.5.

You will need to dig down to a firm base - if your spade goes in easily you are not deep enough.
