Textured paint for rendered walls

Post by kevin08 » Tue Jul 14, 2009 5:59 am

I have just rendered my extension. Want to make paint have rough texture to match rest of house. Can I mix sand to external paint and can I use leighton buzzard sand (have surplus) or does it just need to be a silica sand.

kevin08,
Buy a textured masonry paint. Mixing sand into a smooth paint will give you problems with clays and dirt from the sand.
