hi guys can anyone tell me if i can keep a standard 13a socket and a blue 16a socket on the same circuit or is it better to keep them on seperate circuits and use a type c mcb for the 16a sockets, any advice would be great
Hi, I would keep them separate. Blue sockets not having fused plugs are limited to 16A mcb on radial but 13A circuits usually 20/32A circuits with more than one outlet per circuit.
type of mcb will be determined by your Zs on the far end of run to socket, type C will limit it to 1.15 ohms, but type B will allow up to 2.29 ohms, always go for a B over a C type for closer protection unless large starting surge of whatever is plugged in causing mcb to trip,

thanks sparx, its a 16 a blue socket brownie, all the sockets will be within 10m of each other, can i put more than one 16a socket on the same circuit, or does each 16a socket need a seperate mcb, also i was wondering can i put a standard 13a socket on the same circuit as a 16a amp socket, thanks browie and sparx
