I recently bought a newly converted Edwardian/Victorian police station at Greenwich but found that the exisiting wooden sub-floor on which the laminate is laid is neither level (varying from 5mm to 22mm for a standard door width of 84cm) nor flat (with an undulation of up to 10mm at places). Consequently, I'm not able to lay down solid wood floor as intended without incurring extra expenses to make good the sub-floor.
Does anyone know if there are any UK regulations governing how flat and level sub-floor should be for existing converted buildings? I need to know who is responsible for rectifying the sub-floor.
Any advice appreciated.
