Please advise if an RCCB provides the same protection as an RCD and if so can it be used for electric shower installations. Thanks.

Rccb=residual current circuit breaker
RCD=residual current device
GFCI=ground fault circuit interupter-(U.S.)
DI = Differentia Interupter -(SPAIN)

Same thing, different terminology

worth noting though that those do not give overcurrent protection, which you must habe as well. that take the form of an MCB (Main Circuit Breaker, usually now fitted with an RCD unit protecting a bank of MCBs) or RCBO (RCD MCB combined in a single unit)
