Lowering drain(cover)

by mcslemon » Sat Aug 29, 2009 9:10 am

Hi,

We're looking to put an additional gravel driveway onto part of our front garden. Troube we have is that the garden is on a shallow slope with drain covers about half way down.

I've not lifted the covers up yet but I'm wondering if anyone has any advice about lowering the drain cover to the level we want.. is it a case of altering the structure of the drain itself, or would the cover be just resting on the soil?

Thoughts?

Neil

Hi

If the manhole construction is brickwork just bolster off the cover and frame ajust brickwork to suit try and follow existing bond, cut your bricks to suit angles of (last couse) your new driveway and sand and cement your cover and frame back on.

If its a plastic manhole and raisers just cut the riser with a hand saw to suit your new levels.

Bye
