Stripping washable/foam backed wallpaper??

by ricohenners » Sun Sep 06, 2009 5:21 pm

Hi, just bought a house that has foam backed/washable wallpaper in the kitchen. Just tried peeling it away but reckon its going to be a nightmare to remove...has a film on the top, foam underneath and then like a lining paper under that. Any one got any good tricks/ideas on how best to remove it?

Hi, all you should need to do to remove it is loosen a piece in corner top or bottom and pull, no need to wet it first. It usually comes away in one piece. Then place the sheets of it on the floor next to the wall, wet the lining paper part of it which will still be on the wall and scrape it off. What you scrape off will fall onto the stuff on the floor then just roll it up and no mess. Hope this helps.
